Frequently Asked Questions

How long does approval take?

Most applications are reviewed and approved within 24 hours of receiving your resale certificate. We'll email you a confirmation once your account is flagged tax-exempt.

What states do you accept resale certificates from?

All 50 US states plus DC. Each state has its own form — submit whichever certificate is valid in your state of resale.

Do I need to reapply for each order?

No. Once approved, your customer account is permanently flagged tax-exempt. Every future order automatically removes sales tax at checkout. Just make sure you're logged in.

What if my resale certificate expires?

Some states issue certificates with expiration dates. We'll reach out before expiry to request an updated copy. If we don't hear back, the tax-exempt status pauses until the new certificate is on file.

I already have a Shopify account — do I still need to apply?

Yes. Tax exemption is granted per-customer based on a verified resale certificate, not automatically. Submit the form and reference your existing account email in the notes.

Can I order before approval comes through?

Yes — but sales tax will be charged at checkout. Once approved, we can't refund tax on past orders. Best to wait for approval (24 hours) before placing your first order.
